What AI search says about your business.
Ask Google or ChatGPT for "a good PPF studio in Dwarka" and you get a paragraph, not ten blue links. That paragraph is built from facts about you that already exist online. Here is where it gets them.
What changed
In one year, the share of consumers using AI tools to find local businesses went from a few percent to nearly half, by BrightLocal's 2026 survey. Google now shows AI answers on around 40% of local searches, by Local Falcon's 2025 study of 60,000 queries. The same study found something surprising: how close the business is to the searcher had almost no effect on which businesses the AI answer named.
Where the facts come from
- Your Google Business Profile: category, services, hours, reviews, photos. The most important source by far.
- Your website, especially if it has structured data (a machine-readable summary of your business) that Google documents for local businesses.
- Reviews and what they mention. If twenty reviews say "AC service", the AI believes you do AC service.
- Directories, and whether they agree with each other.
What does not help
Google has said plainly that no special "AI file" or markup is needed. Anyone selling "AI SEO" as a secret trick is selling the ordinary work with a new name. The ordinary work is: correct, consistent, structured facts, everywhere.
What to do
- Fix your Google profile: right category, every service listed, exact hours, recent photos.
- Make the website say the same things, and include structured data.
- Reply to reviews. The replies are read too.
- Make the directories agree with the profile.
- Keep it that way. The answer is rebuilt every time someone asks.
